From April 8 to May 4, 2026, TekBay Academy was part of KU Infinity 2026, a month-long initiative organized by the KU Maths Club at Kathmandu University that brought together students, educators, and industry professionals through mathematics, technology, and innovation. While the KU Maths Club led the planning and organization throughout the festival, TekBay Academy contributed technical expertise, mentorship, and industry perspectives across many of its flagship events, from hackathons and hands-on AWS workshops to STEM discussions and student engagement activities. What Is KU Infinity 2026?

KU Infinity 2026 was a month-long innovation and mathematics festival organized by the KU Maths Club at Kathmandu University and presented by TekBay Academy. Held from April 8 to May 4, 2026, the festival brought together students through 13 events spanning mathematics, technology, and creative disciplines.

The lineup included the 24-hour CodeWave Hackathon, the district-level Mathematical Olympiad certified by IMO Nepal, technical workshops, industry talk shows, and Infinity Main Day, the festival's closing celebration. Together, these events gave students opportunities to compete, learn from industry professionals, showcase their ideas, and connect with peers beyond the classroom.

TekBay Academy's Journey Through Infinity 2026

Infinity Hack Day | April 8 - Where the Collaboration Began

KU Infinity 2026 began with Infinity Hack Day, a six-hour sprint hackathon held at Kathmandu University in collaboration with MLH (Major League Hacking) and Gemini. Before the first ideas were pitched, TekBay Academy introduced participants to the academy and the role it would play throughout the month. As teams moved from brainstorming to building and presenting their solutions, the opening event established the collaborative environment that would carry through the rest of KU Infinity 2026.

CodeWave Hackathon | The Flagship 24-Hour Marathon (April 25 - 26)

If one event best reflected TekBay Academy's involvement throughout KU Infinity 2026, it was the 24-hour CodeWave Hackathon.

Hosted at Kathmandu University's Multipurpose Hall, CodeWave challenged students to design, build, and present solutions within 24 hours, with continuous guidance from mentors and industry professionals.

Mr. Ajeeb Rimal, Tech Lead at TekBay Digital and a Kathmandu University alumnus, spent the event working directly with participating teams, helping them refine ideas, solve technical challenges, and prepare for the final judging. Returning to mentor students at his alma mater made his contribution especially meaningful.

On the second day, Ms. Yukti Basnet, Founder of TekBay Academy and Co-founder of TekBay Digital, joined as Chief Judge while continuing to mentor participants throughout the competition. Drawing on experience across fintech, edtech, and healthtech, she encouraged teams to think beyond technical implementation and focus on solutions capable of creating measurable impact.

Rather than simply supporting the event, TekBay Academy became part of the learning experience itself, giving participants direct access to industry mentorship throughout the competition.

Undergraduate AWS Workshop | Bringing Cloud Learning Beyond the Classroom (April 29)

A few days later, the collaboration moved beyond the university campus as undergraduate students visited TekBay Academy's training center in Ekantakuna for a full-day AWS workshop.

Led by Mr. Rojan Sedhai, the session introduced students to cloud computing fundamentals through demonstrations, practical exercises, and interactive discussions. For many participants, it offered a first hands-on experience with AWS and a practical perspective on concepts often encountered only in the classroom. Students interested in building on that foundation were also introduced to TekBay Academy's AWS Certified Solutions Architect – Associate training program.

STEM Talk Show | Looking Beyond the Classroom (April 30)

The Infinity 2026 STEM Talk Show brought together educators, industry professionals, and student leaders to discuss how STEM education in Nepal can better prepare students for the demands of a rapidly evolving technology landscape.

Representing TekBay Academy, Ms. Yukti Basnet, Founder of TekBay Academy and Co-founder of TekBay Digital, joined the panel to share industry perspectives drawn from her experience across fintech, edtech, healthtech, and other technology sectors. The discussion explored the importance of practical learning, industry exposure, and stronger collaboration between academia and the technology sector to help students build skills that extend beyond the classroom.

For TekBay Academy, the session reflected the academy's broader commitment to supporting industry-connected learning, not only through technical training but also by contributing to conversations that shape the future of STEM education in Nepal.

Infinity Main Day | Celebrating a Month of Innovation (May 4)

After a month of hackathons, workshops, competitions, and discussions, Infinity Main Day brought KU Infinity 2026 to its conclusion at Kathmandu University. More than a closing ceremony, it was a celebration of the ideas, achievements, and community that had taken shape throughout the festival.

For TekBay Academy, the day reflected the culmination of a month-long commitment to the initiative. Alongside engaging with students through its exhibition booth, the academy witnessed the outcomes of the very events it had supported.

During the prize distribution, teams that had received mentorship from Ajeeb Rimal during the CodeWave Hackathon and presented their solutions before Yukti Basnet as Chief Judge were recognized for their achievements, bringing TekBay Academy's involvement across KU Infinity 2026 to a natural close.

While the festival ended on Main Day, the conversations, mentorship, and connections built throughout the month are the kind of experiences that continue well beyond the closing ceremony.
